3D Painting - Early Morning

This one is inspired by an old painting called "Early morning" by Alexandre-Louis Jacob (1876–1972). Jacob was a French artist best known for his moody landscapes, often featuring bodies of water and a soft painting style.

The painting consists of 12 photoshop layers exported as 3D geometry. It was rendered in Octane Standalone with an animated displacement map for water. I've added a slightly warm and soft ambient lightsource, and use a diffuse shader so it essentially behaves as an unlit material. On the water I'm using a reflective shader with animated displacement and a perlin noise mixed in. The camera animation was added using a "AnimateValue_SG" LUA script. The final editing were done in Premiere and Audition.
